A fuel dispenser is a carefully calibrated metering instrument frequently used by a gas station or a mobile fueling vehicle, periodically calibrated by a local legitimate metering calibration organization. If a fuel dispenser, whose error exceeds the maximum allowable error by ±0.25%, is used, it may cause unnecessary economic losses to the consumers or the operator.

Before the SANKI fuel dispenser was shipped from the factory, the accuracy of its flow meter was adjusted in order to meet the external accuracy requirement. However, when it is used at the site, it is possible that the actual displacement deviates from the theoretical displacement due to factors such as pipeline pressure, fuel quality, temperature and etc, thus the metering accuracy may decrease. The flow meter should be adjusted when necessary. The accuracy of the flow meter can be adjusted by adjusting the flow meter handle.

The method is to turn the adjusting wheel on one of the end caps of the flow meter. Before turning, pull out the sealing rod, and then turn the handle clockwise or counterclockwise. Turning clockwise can move the adjusting screw inwards to reduce the displacement for less fuel discharge; turning counterclockwise can move the adjusting screw outwards to increase the displacement for more fuel discharge

The flow meter handle adjustment range is up to ±1% and is usually set to the middle position when it is shipped out of the factory. When adjusting the handle, you can adjust one pitch (the adjustment quantity is 0.10%) or half a pitch (the adjustment quantity is 0.05%) at a time When you finish the adjustment, insert the sealing rod, and stamp a lead seal at the hand wheel.

The adjustment structure of FM-500 flow meter with soft pistons is shown in Figures 8.7.1 and 8.7.2.

Attention: When the flow meter exceeds the metering adjustment range, it needs to be replaced. The said operation should be conducted by a metering calibration organization authorized by the local technical supervision department.
